Sexy star Salma Hayek will be 'knighted' in France when she receives the Legion d'Honneur (Legion of Honor). The Mexican-born actress was among the list of new recipients of the merit award that was announced by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

People reported that, according to source, her induction ceremony could take place in the next two months. The medal will be presented by Sarkozy himself.

The Legion of Honor was founded as a merit award by Napoleon in 1802 and is traditionally given to civilians and members of the military for their contributions to France. While Hollywood actors like Clint Eastwood, Jerry Lewis, Robert Redford and Robert De Niro have received the medal in the past, Hayek's selection has been met with fierce criticism.

Many in the French press see it as a last ditch effort by Sarkozy to get re-elected in the spring. Marianne, a political magazine, had a headline that read "Last distribution of the gongs before leaving," while L'Express wrote that Napoleon would be "turning his grave" if he knew who was receiving the award.

According to the controversy, Hayek's husband is Francois-Henri Pinault, a businessman who is reportedly close friends with Sarkozy.

Stewart's entire programming block, which includes Emeril's Table, Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn, and Martha Bakes, is said to be running through September, but any show that surpasses the month of April will be a repeat. The Martha Stewart Show's average audience was only around 200,000 viewers. Lisa Gersh, president of MSLO, hinted that the costs were getting too high at an investor conference last month.

Comic book legend Stan Lee has been selected to receive the Vanguard Award by the Producers Guild of America.

The award recognizes achievements in new media and technology. Previous honorees include George Lucas and John Lasster.

This marks another award bestowed on Lee in 2011. He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in January. He was also chosen to receive a lifetime achievement award by the Visual Effects Society.

"I am extremely appreciative that the Producers Guild has chosen me for this distinguished award," Lee said. "I am eager to continue to expand comic book storytelling into the digital space and am honored to be awarded alongside sung amazing visionaries."

Stan Lee is known as the creator of Spiderman, Hulk, Fantastic Four and more for Marvel comics.

More recently , Lee's company, POW! Entertainment, teamed with Michael Eisner's company Vuguru to produce original digital content.

The 23 annual Producers Guild Awards will be held on Jan 21.

If bond movies are only as good as their villains, then having someone of Bardem's stature certainly can't hurt. In fact, in some ways he's a real change of pace from your usual Bond baddie. It's been 50 years since the first James Bond film, Dr. No, debuted, and over the course of the series the movies villains have mostly been played by character actors. Donald Pleasence, Christopher Lee, Joe Don Baker, Jonathan Pryce.

In other words, as great as these actors are, they are not people whose marquee value could possibly outshine the guy who's actually playing Bond.

And while Bardem doesn't have the star power of Daniel Craig, he's definitely someone that audiences recognize who's started developing a commercial track record of his own with hits like "Eat Pray Love" and "No Country for Old Men."

And unlike a lot of Bond villains, he's got an Oscar.

American Idol winner Lee DeWyze has been dropped by RCA Records. The season nine winner of American Idol was let go following recent restructuring by the company. His contract expired in September and RCA decided not to extend it.

"Live It Up" his first release since Idol, was a commercial disappointment for RCA, with a debut in 19th place on the Billboard 200.

It is the worst selling debut by an Idol winner. DeWyze's previous two albums, released independently, failed to generate much acclaim.

Another Idol alumnus, season 7 runner up David Archuleta, split from Jive Records earlier this year for similar reasons. Both Jive and RCA have been owned by Sony since July.

However, other Idol winners are remaining with RCA, including Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, who are the most successful of the Idol winners.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - A way better movie than the first two

Compared to the first two movie, the third one for me was better. Okay lets just put the acting thing aside for now (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, John Malcovich). The main thing that's been a down for me from the two previous transformers movie is the fighting scenes of Autobots and Decepticons, for me it was too damn fast, too dark. But in this movie, wow they nailed it in this one. The CG effects was very impressive, the fight scenes involving Optimus was a showstopper.

Although we also see Megatron a few times in the movie so is Stascream and Shockwave who happens to be riding a tentacle robot thingy, who we see early in the movie then appear late in the movie.

The babe? well Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is hot in the movie, hot and sexy, but the acting? I told you earlier lets juts leave that alone hehehehe.

To sum it all up the best Tansformers movie for me, a lot better from the fist movie and way much better than the second one. Transformer fans are in for a treat in this one.

Cowell denied rumors that he called the two stars "boring" in his interview with the British tabloid The Mirror.

Cowell's rep, however, claimed that he was misquoted.

Aside from hunting promos in malls where we go physically, the advent of technology makes it easier because I get to know promos on interesting items online. Shopping online and sifting through various portals can be interesting as well and I always like gopromos promotional items because they really have low prices and we’ll get to save a lot. They have various promotional items and interesting products that we can choose from.

Sucker Punch: A movie That Packs a Punch to your Brain

I got hold of a copy of Sucker Punch from my friend and watch it last week. At first glance of the trailer of course what I wanted to see was hot babes fighting robots and samurais 10 times their size, sort of a Final Fantasy RGP game.

If this is what you want to see, well you wont be disappointed the fights scenes are great, the effects, the music all great. Oh and did I mention the hot babes, Baby Doll(Emily Browning), Sweet Pea(Abbie Cornish), Rocket(Jenna Malone), Blondie(Vanessa Hudgens) and Amber(Jamie Chung) were oozing with sexiness and kick ass moves.

Now the part where we begin using our head. If you really want to understand the movie you better start using using it, because you really have to pay attention. This movie is full of metaphor and is way more cerebral than one might expect. You really have to work to understand what's going on. This is a great movie to watch with your friends because by the end of the movie you and your friends will have hours of conversation about what it all means. On what is your interpretation, especially the ending of the movie were boundless of interpretations would pop up on everybody.

My friends copy was only in VCD, and I'm still waiting for the DVD or Blu-Ray copy to come by. Be sure to watch this movie, rent it, buy a copy, that's up to you.

True Grit a True Class Western Movie

I have not seen the 1969 original movie so I can't compare the two. But set aside the comparison, I would say this movie is one heck of a western/cowboy movie. The movie stars Jeff Bridges as the drunken shoot first ask later Marshall Cogburn. Hailee Steinfeld as the young revenge seeking girl and Matt Damon who plays Laboeuf, for me is sort of the comic relief in the movie.

I had to ask my dad if he has seen the 1969 version of the film and he did, but can't remember much of the detail of the film, all he has to say after watching the 2010 version is that for him its not a remake of the 1969 movie but a complete new story, and the only actor he can remember of the 1969 True Grit is John Wayne and for him John Waynes Cogburn is much better than Jeff Bridges portrayal of Marshall Cogburn. Well that's my dad's own say, but I think Jeff Bridges gave a great performance in the movie and maybe will get a nomination for his effort. I also like the performance of the strong willed girl by Steinfeld although shes not a seasoned actress she did well on this film, and I bet we would see more of this young woman.

If you like collecting DVDs, a copy of this movie would be a great addition to your collection, its not your typical all gun slinging western movie, and the action only pick up until the latter half of the movie. Although it may lack the action pack gun slinging people are used to in a western movie, the movie makes it up with the performance of Bridges and the heavy detailing Ross who would stop at nothing to avenge her father's death and of course Damon(Laboeuf) a Texas ranger who wants respect. Great cinematography and lighting. As I have mentioned earlier the movie maybe slow at times but the movie is fantastic and a great keeper for western movie lovers.

The film also shows how ballet for some is boring, can be very physically demanding, and emotionally draining. The perfection it required is just totally tiring for a human body. But thats just me talking, can you imagine doing those spins several time, if it was me i would be lying on the floor dizzy.

The film is a psychological thriller, this type of movie for me needs to be watch several times to really understood the movie, which leads us back to YOU that having a DVD of the movie is an advantage so you can easily go back to the part which can help you understand the movie.

Natalie Portman really did one heck of a job as a ballet dancer, and Mila Kunis is still smoking hot and its nice to see her in a different movie aside from comedy.Its a great film to watch with your friends and love ones.

Third Times a Charm for Chronicle of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The third film for the movie franchise Narnia. The third movie however is minus Susan and Peter Pevensie but the addition of their cousin Eustace was enough to replace the two. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader takes us to a journey with Prince Caspian trying to find the 7 lost lords of Narnia. On his journey he met Edmund, Lucy and of course Eustace who for me was the bright part of the movie, the scene he have with Reepicheep(the mouse if you remember him in the 2nd movie) was funny.

The effect was also good, although I'm not a fan of the 3D in the film, the 2D is well enough for me. The serpent scene was great. The film though was short compare to the first two movies but its still good enough for me, and a great flick for the family to watch.

Ballet at its Darkest in Black Swan

I have never really like ballet, it bores me. But upon watching Black Swan my it changes my whole point of view for it. In the movie it shows how unappreciated form of art can be physically demanding. Natalie Portman was downright brilliant playing the lead role Nina as this innocent ballet dancer trying hard to please her mother.

I had to watch this movie several times just to really absorbed the story, the movie is labeled as a thriller, but for me its more of a psychological thriller. With Nina struggling ALA Dr.Jekyl and Hyde, Good and Bad, Light and Dark, you get my point.

I'm also glad to see Mila Kunis is a different type of role, since her role in that 70's show as Jackie is always on my mind whenever her name is mentioned. Oh and shes still hot hahahaha.

But overall the movie is great, if your into psychological thriller and all.

I have never seen the original movie but this remake was great. I just can't put where this movie should be categorize, is it a horror, thriller, romance or a combination of the three? Chloe Moretz if you remember before, on the movie Kick-Ass is the cute and feisty Hit Girl, on this movie she plays as the vampire child Abby who moves next door to a boy Owen who's a loner and always bullied at school. The two became friend, more than a friend so to speak as the movie goes on.

I'm not gonna spoil all the details here if you haven't seen the movie. But there's one scene in the movie that lets me say ohh so that's why, that scene is where Abby asked Owen that she should be invited to come in first before she can enter Owen room, in this scene you can see why vampire must be invited first before they can enter or else something terrible will happen to them.

You got to watch this movie guys, really its one movie you should not miss.

I never thought they would make a remake of the film, I never saw the original movie, though I did see some of the brutal parts of the film especially the rape scenes and the revenge. But for me compared to the first movie the rape scene is less brutal compared to the original one, (is there's such thing as less brutal??? hahahaha) What I mean is that compared to the original movie the remake is hmmm less savage??( maybe that the right word to use) compared to the original which was really brutal (okay here I go again with the really brutal word). Although the movies plot is still the same as the original with Sarah Butler as the lead actress portraying Jennifer Hills, a novelist who rents a cabin, then gets abuse and rape by a gang of local males, then ditching her body in a river. The gang thought she was dead, then a few week's later reappears to get revenge against the people who rape and abuse her.

I don't know if I should recommend this movie to you, but if you want to see a woman being rape and abuse, and then sets on to avenge using Jigsaw like skill well by all means watch this one.

My wife really loves Julia Roberts, you could say shes a big fan of her. She likes to watch movies of Julia be it a good movie or bad as long as Julia Roberts is in that movie its okay for her. But since going to the movies now a days is really expensive, almost a two day salary for my part, so we decided to just wait for a DVD copy to buy. And since I'm planning to buy this week for a new DVD player to replace my broken 3 year old player although I still have a VCD player I would prefer the DVD copy because of some of its features. Anne Hathaway is now the new Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises". Hathaway will play the role of Selina Kyle A.K.A Catwoman. Ever since mom retired she constantly watches TV series on cable, she has lots if series that she follows and because of this, sometimes she would miss some. One particular series she's interested in is the series Gavin and Stacey. I only saw this series a few times, and what can I say the series is nice, its has mix of humor, romance and touching at times. Gavin and Stacey is a British romantic comedy series starring Mathew Horne as Gavin and her long distance partner Stacey played by Joanna Page.

I tried to follow the series but the problem with TV series is having to follow it episode through episode, and having plenty of people to contend with on what to watch Mom with her cable and local TV series, Dad with his sports and news, Keona with her children channel and CD, Wifey with her talk show and fashion) I'm surely to miss a episode so does my mom.

Though the series have stopped, Luckily I stumble on the net a gavin and stacey boxset. It has all the complete series from 1 to 3 and a Christmas special. I bet mom would really like this dvd, and I'm planning to buy her one. And I bet you should too.

IP MAN 2

After I saw the first movie, I know there would be a continuation, and so it did. And i wasn't disappointed in the 2nd movie either. Returning as Ip Man is Donnie Yen, which really did a great job in the first movie and also the 2nd one. The martial arts fighting scene was great, especially the confrontation of Master Hung Quan (Sammo Hung) and Ip man, well its seldom that you would see a action legend like Sammo Hung against a rising star like Donnie Yen.

Ip Man 2 would be a great movie to watch, although it doesn't surpass what the first Ip Man movie has brought. I already had a copy of both Ip Man and Ip Man 2, a real keeper if I may say so. Would there be a third movie? If there would be one, I hope it would still be Donnie Yen who will portray as Ip man.

Some of my friends have a negative comment on this film when they saw it. They said it was violent, brutal etc etc. So I had to see it to believe it, when I finally had a copy of the movie. Well they were right there was some violence in the film, the rape scene involving Alex(Monica Belluci) was brutal.

But the film itself was great, well I got to admit it, the way the film is shot in reverse order was new to me. The film also shows us how violent and sickening a person can be. Hats off to the director on showing to the audience how disgusting an act of rape is, and how it can greatly affect the person who is linked to the one that is raped, be it a lover, relatives or friends. Definitely a movie to see.

SUPERMAN/BATMAN: APOCALYPSE

I'm not really all that familiar with the comic books of Batman and Superman, although I'm a fan of the series Justice League which has both of them as well as Wonder Woman. The movie focuses more on Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl who crash lands to earth, who causes unintentional destruction for not having been able to control her powers.

To sum it all, it was a great movie, although I would prefer Superman having more fighting scene against Darkseid rather than Kara, or maybe the two cousin teaming up to fight Darkseid. There's only one scene that seem a bit wrong for me, the scene of Batman and Darkseid, lets face it Darkseid can kick the living hell out of Superman, but Batman being able to survive at least 3-4 attacks from Darkseid?? Come on, even if his wearing an armor, but that's just me. But still this is a great movie to watch for Superman and Batman, and even Justice League fans.

TOY STORY 3

If you like the first two movies of Toy Story, then my friends, don't hesitate to watch this one. Toy Story 3 was just brilliant, Pixar really did a great job on this one.

The main characters are back, Woody and Buzz together with Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex, Jessie and more. This time Andy is all grown up, and is going to college, which leaves an uncertain future for Woody and his company. Trouble and adventures started when Woody's friend thought they where all going to be junked. Well I'm not gonna tell you all the details of the movie since it will be much better if you watch it yourself.

Another interesting part for you to watch in the movie is near the end, which for me was really touching and that's coming from a 30 plus year old guy. I never taught that animation can get this emotional, and believe me, some of my friends who have watched the movie even cried, yup and those where adults hahahaha. You better prepare something to wipe those tears off.

This was just a perfect movie and although I felt sad since this is the finale of the Toy Story trilogy. My hats off to the Director and Writers of the movie, and to Pixar I repeat BRILLIANT. And to you guys and gals, children and adults, you better watch this movie or buy a copy of Toy Story 3 DVD because this would be a keeper.

I just saw this last night. I do like this type of movies, especially since the coming of Saw and Hostel movies. If you're looking for some gore, then this is the movie for you, some of the scene even made me twitch a little because of the gore scenes. Some would say that this movie is like a copycat or is similar to a Saw movie, but for me i don't think it's that similar to Saw. Since in Saw Jigsaw gives his victims decision and a chance to save themselves, while the Collector does not, he will watch you in pain or die on one of his traps.

The downside of the movie, it made me think how the hell did he manage to setup all this traps. And who is the Collector? why does he collect this person, how do he selects this person, why why why. So many question to be answered. I hope they would make a second part of the movie that would further explain the motive of the Collector.

KICK-ASS

The title itself is a perfect fit for the movie, because it really kick ass. The story is about a teenage nerd Dave Lizewski, whose obsession with comic book inspires him to create his own superhero, Kick-Ass, despite no superpowers and to top of it all dose not even no how to fight. He attempts to become a crime fighter end in a disaster(being stabbed and ran over by a car hahahah) but on his second attempt having to rescue a cat, this is where his luck changes, which propels him on to the public limelight and establishing him as a figure to reckon with.

But for me the star of the show is Hit Girl( Chloe Moretz, she's really cute) well because she really kick ass, just looking at this cure little girl beating, killing and slashing bad guys just left my mouth wide open.

This is definitely a movie to watch for, guys and gals don't hesitate in renting this because it will blow your mind away.

INFESTATION

I was not even sure to rent this one, just looking at the cover made me think maybe this was an old movie, with a new cover in it hahahahaha, but what the heck, i love monster movie and all.

After watching the movie, well it was great, kinda like the "Eight Legged Freaks" movie i saw lot long ago, although that movie was way better than this one. "Infestation" is a science fiction horror movie, what I like about this movie is that unlike other monster movie wherein you can only see the monster at the end or only part of it, in "Infestation" you get to see the monster early!! and the special effects are also good in this movie.

The only downfall for me is the ending. Maybe they are planning a sequel for this one. But to sum things up, its a nice movie to rent and watch with your friends.

Case 39 centers on an idealistic worker who saves an abused 10 year old girl from her parents only to discover that the girl is not as innocent as she thinks. Playing the worker Emily Jenkins is Renee Zellweger who did a decent acting on her part but for me credit should be given to Jodelle Ferland who plays Lillith Sullivan.

I mean the girl was cute but scary, especially the part when she confronted Douglas (Bradley Cooper) and also the scene between her and Emily, when she tried to count Emily to get out from under the bed.

My only disappointment on this film is the way Lillith was killed , I mean she can break down a door with several locks but cant hold off Emily when she was being pushed down while the car is drowning. The movie is a decent thriller with some great scare but still not above the movie Orphan which for me is still the best. But still this movie would not be a disappointment if you buy a copy or even rent one.

TV SERIES THAT HAVE CAUGHT MY ATTENTION

There are plenty of shows on cable to choose from. My wife wont watch the cable when I had the remote since I jump from one channel to another. But there are some series that I do stick around and finished before jumping to another one. One of it is Wipeout, they say that laughter is the best medicine, then watch this one. It always makes me laugh. Especially when the contestant try to hurdle those balls hahahaha. Although male contestant usually wins in the end, I do wish some female contestant would dominate too.

And also there is the anime series which is for me is the best, that is why I get cable, for the sole reason of having to watch anime. When it comes to anime Bleach is the one for me. Kurosaki Ichigo is really a cool character, having to wield that massive sword of his and fighting of hollows, arrancars, espadas and of course the very powerful Aizen. I hope Ichigo defeats Aizen, although I think it will be a fierce one because Aizen is one tough dude, powerful, cunning and very unforgiving and another thing that is a mystery to me about Aizen is his sword, I haven't seen it's Shikai or its Bankai. So, how about you? whats your favorite series in cable TV.

I thought this was gonna be something similar to the movie Constantine or Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight, but no, the two were far more better than this one. The action scenes are few, very few. And most of the great scenes can be found on the movie trailer, believe me. Yup the old lady scene in the dinner and the ice cream man. And the rest no worth mentioning. I can go on talking about how disappointed i was with this one. But to save time and effort and money. I would suggest not renting or buying this one. Disappointment will just ruin you day.

HOLLYWOOD GETTING SUED FOR USING CHRIST STATUE

Hollywood is getting sued for using Rio's famous giant Christ statue in its disaster movie blockbuster "2012".

Rio de Janeiro's archdiocese is demanding unspecified damages and interest from Columbia Pictures for showing the iconic landmark being destroyed in a worldwide apocalypse in a film that came out last year, the archdiocese's attorney, Claudine Dutra, said.

The archdiocese manages copyright issues related to the 40 meter high statue erected in 1931, which overlooks Rio with its arms outreached.

The Christ the Redeemer statue was created by Paul Landowski, a French artist of Polish descent, on commission from the Rio archdiocese and erected in 1931.

Landowski died in 1961, meaning the archdiocese holds the copyright until 2032, when the sculpture becomes part of the public domain.

NINJA ASSASSIN

Now this is the type of ninja movie i want to see. Cool fighting scenes was great, and add to it the gore and violence and blood splashing all around. The story is nice and you wont feel bored. Of course there are no twist to the plot in this movie, cause who needs one, in this action pack film.

The cast is good especially the lead man, Raizo (Rain), i just wish they would had pick a much hotter female to pair up with Raizo although Naomie Harris did a decent job.

The only part i don't like about the movie is the chase scene where the ninja are trying to catch Raizo on a highway. What??? aren't ninja's supposed to be stealthy and rather hide on the dark to kill its victims. Not run around jumping on cars and all.

But if you like ninja movies like i do, you cant miss this one. Top notch action from beginning till end. But let me remind you there is lots of gore, blood and violence in this movie.

SHERLOCK HOLMES

Is Robert Downey Jr. on a roll or what? After the success of Iron Man, he followed it up with Tropic Thunder and now this. The latest Sherlock Holmes movie, i would say again that Robert Downey Jr. played Sherlock Holmes nicely. Not to mention his friend and sidekick Dr. Watson played by Jude Law, the chemistry of the two was great. Their constant verbal quarrel gives viewers a laugh.

When watching i just cant help but compare it to a James Bond movie or a Mission Impossible with some great fight scenes with Holmes. Of course what i like about all Sherlock Holmes movies is part where Holmes would explain everything to uncover the mystery of what just happened. And i just cant wait for the next movie to be shown, cause there will be a next one cause another enemy is lurking from the dark. I just hope they can still get Downey and Law to play their respective characters.

Don't hesitate to watch this movie.

Finally i got a copy of avatar. Ive been waiting for weeks now to watch this Mega Movie. And I wasn't disappointed. Pandora was such a breathtaking to watch, the effect, the creatures, the attention to details was superb.

The actors was great but I rarely seem to notice them cause i was more fixated with the effect of the movie and the 3D just adds to the beautifully without distracting you. Just looking at the Navi's faces are amazing they look real and their movement running, climbing, fighting was flawless.

No wonder it has surpass Titanic as the best grossing film. And this movie will just keep on racking those awards one by one.

Its a must for those geeks out their who want to watch state of the art special effect. But for the deep movie critics I would shy away from this one cause I know you wont like the depth of the characters and its story.
