Academy Award Nominee Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe

Almost one year ago today, the first photograph of actress Michelle Williams made up to look like Marilyn Monroe was released to the public.

Williams appeared to be completely transformed in the Hollywood icon, with her platinum curls, fuller face, and signature beauty mark.

But it is one thing to look like a legend, and it's another to portray her on screen.

And now we can see and hear Williams as Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, based on the true story of Colin Clark, who got to know the star when she work on a film in England in 1956.

The film presents Williams with a two distinct acting challenges: to copy Monroe's bubbly, flirty public persona that movie fans know, and to shed light on the hidden, emotional side the star kept from the public.

To get to the core of the character, Williams immersed herself in all things Marilyn. She spent six months consuming every movie, book, recording, photograph, and personal letter she could find.

She said, "I'd go to bed every night with a stack of books next to me. And I'd fall asleep to movies of her,"

British Singer Robbie Williams Can't Drive

The 37 year old British singer Robbie Williams struggles to get around Los Angeles, where he lives with wife Ayda Field, because he has never passed his driving test. He says "I don't have a driver's license. In London you don't drive because the traffic if terrible, so you get cabs to go everywhere, which left me being 35 and still without a driver's license in Los Angeles.

Although he can't drive he is fascinated by cars and loves watching motor racing on television. He said "We Formula 1 over in England, and it's always been a very important part of growing up and seeing these heroes and respecting and admiring them and the glamour that surrounds them. It's exciting.

Asked what type of car he thinks he is, he said "I think I'd be a van to be honest. Nice and comfortable, steady, reliable, I'd like to consider myself like something sporty, but I'm not. So yeah,a minivan with a plasma screen inside, big relaxing chair and comfort. That would be me.

Cheryl Cole Dropped from US X Factor

Cheryl Cole was dropped from the US version of "The X Factor" TV talent show because American audiences cannot understand her accent. Cole, a major celebrity in Britain, appears to have been discarded from the show less than a month after arriving in the United States, and well before it hits US TV screens in September.

Cole is from Newcastle in northeast England, which has one of the country's strongest accents, and has admitted in the past that some Americans took time to adapt her Geordie brogue.

British newspaper, with tongue firmly tucked in cheek, said the timing of the snub was ironic because it came just days after the US President Barack Obama reaffirmed the importance of the US-British "special relationship".

THE NEW ROBIN HOOD

The latest screen version of the Legendary outlaw will be played by Russel Crowe, also in the film is Care Blanchett, Willian Hurt, Max Von Sydow, Vanessa Redgrave and Lea Seydoux.

"To revisit the legend, Ridley Scott jas chosen Russel Crowe in a role previously brought to the screen by Errol Flynn, Sean Connery and Kevin Costner," they said.

The new Robin Hood is set in 13th century England where Robin and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and lead an uprising against the crown that will forever alter the balance of power. And whether thief or hero, one man from humble beginnings will become an eternal symbol of freedom for his people.
